Hi swedish friends,

we will come and "fisk" in sweden last week of october. I found this forum by surfing in swedish websites. We have the same board in germany called www.anglerboard.com

Who of yours has been fishin in tyskland?

Can you give me some tips to catct gadda the best in october? I am in sweden every year since about 10 years but this year the first time in october.

It would be great if you have good tips for us to have good fisk.

I´m from Stckholm and dosen´t know a shit about Ljungby. I searched the forum for you and found the website www.sportfiskecenter.nu they seem to be located in the ljungbyarea. Good luck.

I have also found the fiskecenter in Ljungby, but there is no information about Pike/Gaedda in October.

I thought yours would have have some good information how to get gadda in october. If someone asks me how to catch gadda in germany I would have much information to help.

It seems not to be the same in sweden.

First of all: Thank you for coming to Sweden, I'm absolutely positive you guys are going to have a great time here!

October is an excellent time of the year to go after the big ones, since the water temperatures in the shallows usually brings them in from the deep spots where they tend to linger in the summer. The locals in Ljungby can probably give you more specific information, but you'll want to use a sonar to find drop-offs at depths of about 3-5 meters. If water temperature drops below say... 10-12 you can also try floating crank- or jerkbaits in the super shallow water, where the "big pigs" may be soaking the last of the autumn sun.

It's not that much HOW to catch a pike/hecht/gädda, same techniques you're using in Germany apply here. And the time of year is right. You would rather want to know where to go. Since lakes are everywhere in Småland (which is where you're going), I guess you only need to spot a nice lake and then go for it. You'll need a permit to fish in the lakes (small fee), which I'm sure the local fishing gear shop can help you with. And also help you with what lake to choose. If you want to fix everything on beforehand, call the tourist information in Ljungby. They might even set you up with boat, fishing guide, equipment, whatever.

Thanks for the answers. I did not call the fiskecenter, we will visit them while we are in sweden.

Thank you for the tips. We have a boat up there but not an echolot yet. I will try to rent one for the time. The last years we were in Svängsta but in summer or may. We have had the most of our pikes on little fish and wobbler about 1 and 2 metres deep.

Do you still catch aal in october? The see we will fish in is called Tuvesjön.
