For pikefishing with heavier baits than ~50 gr. a 2500/3000 is simply just not Fit in my opinion.
The primary reason in my eyes is that the reel simply doesnt have the cranking power, so u Will feel to much resistance when reeling in.
For the same reason i prefer reels like Daiwa Certate, Shimano Stella and Shimano Twinpower (especially the PG-version of the Twinpower) for pikefishing even for size 4000-reels.
If you want something lighter that still has the strong and rigid feeling, Daiwa Exist and the 'old' Daiwa Airity would be a good choice.
My two favorites for pikefishing is the 'new' Certate if u want a reel with a higher Line intake, and Twinpower PG for a lower.
Maybe if u do a lot of 'stop and go'-fishing with jigs with a total Weight of around 50-70, or lighter jerkbaits, the Exist and Vanquish could be better choices.
