Karp i Ottarpsjön

Hello fishing brothers and sisters

Firstly. Apologies for writting in English, but my written swedish is about as good as my spoken swedish..........crap!

I was hoping to find some information about carp fishing in Ottarpsjön in Hässleholms kommun, If anyone can help.

what do you realisticly think the population of carp is in this lake?

what size fish could be expected from this water?

What other species are present or more importantly what is the size and population of the dreaded Braxen do i need a big old donkey chocker of a bollie to avoid thoes lovely critters?

Also where would you fish? im aware of the two small islands at the top end of the lake and there is alot of fishable shoreline, but i also found a nice spot where the stream joins Ottarps to Ballingsjön.

and finally does anyone know about the history of the carp here.

Any info would be great even in swedish (google translator, bloody lifesaver)

Do you have access to a car? If you do try Bosarpasjön between Höör and Hörby, this lake has a good population of carp in nice size.

Hi dave if you want to fish carp and live close to Hässleholm, then you should read MP-FISHING,s story about Kallsjön. You can write him and ask coz that lake have give him a few nice carps up to 14.8 kilo.
I know he been fishing ther a few weeks back and then he cought 5 over 10 kilo.

He also have some information about ballingslövssjön

Hi lex I was actually fishing bosarps about 3 weeks ago lost 2 and landed one at a touch over 8kg. That lake now costs 150kr for 24 hours which is a bit much considering there are are some cracking lakes in skåne that cost just a bit more than that for a year and some are free, but it is a nice water and the man lasse in charge of the lake is really nice and helpfull.

Jan. You must be a mind reader as i am thinking of fishing kallsjön. I heard about it from a mate of mine earlier this year but have not got round to actullay having a go i spent too much time feeding the fish in lillasjön, but will have go now in the backend of the year.

I think i will contact the guy who is fishing their and as he knows about Ballindslövsjön he might know a bit about Ottarps.

Hi Jimmy you really should try Kallsjön seens it hold very nice fish and it cozt very little for a fishing card ther
U can read a little on front page what i wrote on this lake, iv been around for many years and im now 48 years YOUNG I fish in that lake seens i was 8 years old, it is about 20 years ago i did put in alot of carp in that lake, very small, small, medium and ther have also been carp from ohter lake going in to this lake and those was bigg ass carps Atlist up to 17 kilo and hoppfully some still live. The lake have been fished very very little last years, last year i se maybe 3 carp fisher men ther in all the nights i was ther.......so more people , more boiles will gain the carps im sure. Iv got many mails and phone calls from people after i let the lake out on this page, and i know ther is some fishing ther this weekend, so we will se what they catsh I havent fish alot this year seens i spend alot time for bream and mullet and id also. I did some weeks in spring and early summer with result 14 kilo in top and 5 over 10 kilo.

Also ballingslövs sjön hold many carps to ( know seens i let may go ther to ) And ofcourse ottarpssjön holds alot of carp, old carps and carps that the swedish carpklubb put in ther. Also rumers say ther is old carps from many years ago, true or not who know? I know hovever in Ballingslövssjön ther been put in 2 carps over 17 kilo many years ago, they live or die ? Who know seens not many have the strength try new lakes, most people waite for result so in my mind im 100% sure ther is many carps over 10 kilo ther, and hoppfully 1 or 2 that can go over swedish magic wight 20 ? We will know in future.

I have PM you. well i think i have i could have done it wrong.

That was me and my mate fishing on kallsjön this weekend had a new pb mirror carp at 10.9kg or 24lb. very happy with that.

you should try some other lakes aswell.. found some good lakes in stockholm area.. private lakes for me. if u give me a PM can give u some good places.. dunno if u fancy driving all the way to stockholm.
