The Screaming Delkims Guide to…........................
CARP FISHING CUISINE
Here are a few of the culinary delights, which we knock up on the banks of any Lake, River, Pond, or Puddle that contains carp.
You won’t find any cheese sandwiches in our swim!!
We always make hot food when out carping for more than 24 hours. It’s part of the fun of carp fishing and it certainly beats eating sarnies for a week!
Amongst our array of “munchies” are various meals.
We categorise them in to 3 categories:
1. Main Menu Meals
2. Hot & Quick meals
3. Snack attacks
Listed below are some of our regular meals which are easy to prepare and don’t take a great deal of time to cook. There are also some more meals from the other categories.
Main Menu Meals
The Great British Breakfast.
Sausage, Bacon, Eggs, Baked Beans, Black Pudding, Plum Tomato’s, Mushrooms & Eggy Bread.
Drowned heavily in HP sauce and a huge mug of “Rosy Lea” (Tea) to wash it down. This meal keeps you from being hungry for at least 24hrs Guaranteed, or your money back!!
*Pytt-i-Panna Surprise
*Pytt-i-Panna with vindaloo curry powder, Hamburgers, Fried Eggs & Baked Beans.
Lashings of Tomato Ketchup, loads of pepper and whopping cup of coffee or ice cold pint of Strongbow Cider.
(* Pytt-i-Panna is a Swedish dish of Potatoes, Ham & Onions which comes cut in to small cubes and is fried. It is the perfect “Carp Fisherman’s” meal as it comes in 1kg bags, frozen and ready to go)
After eating this meal it is best not to share a bivvy with your fishing buddies or you may earn the name “smelly pants”
*Falukorv & Mashed Chatties
*Falukorv, Mashed Potatoes with mint sauce, Fried Onions and Gravy.
This goes great with an ice-cold can of your favourite brew.
(*Falukorv is an extra large Swedish hotdog style sausage that is cut into slices & fried in lots of healthy fat!)
Hot & Quick Meals
Pasta a la Carp
1 packet of packet pasta (any flavour) and a packet of noodles.
Just chuck this into a pan with some boiling water and “Voila” a hot meal for 2.
Then get your “Racing spoons” at the ready for the battle to eat more from the pan before your mate can!
Chicken / Beef Curry & Rice
1 tin of Chicken or Beef Curry and 2 packets of Savoury rice.
Normally the curry in the tins is a tad on the tame side so we jazz it up a bit with some vindaloo or Madras curry powder and some extra onions and chillies.
This usually requires a cold can of beer at the ready, to douse any flames or prevent spontaneous human combustion.
