carpoholic: where can I buy balsa wood? flouro paint? and the other things i need for the job?!

From Hobbex or craft shops like Pandoro hobby. Also try "Art shops". You can also get flouro paints from Biltema, K-Rauta and other shops like that.
The best place i have found in Sweden to buy Balsa wood is the shops that sell stuff for making model aeroplanes and remote controlled cars/helicopters e.t.c and those little hobby shops that sell paints and the likes for painting plant pots.
The only problem i have found is that all the balsa in Sweden is "square", i cant find it any where, where you can buy it "Round". But its really easy to shape with a sharp knife and some sandpaper

I forgot to mention................... if you look in the 1st picture i put up, you will see some small floats that i have made out of corks from wine and champagne bottles. Glue 3 together with super glue to make a pike float. There are also 2 in the picture made this way they are the red and yellow ones in the middle with the viens on the top. The viens are made from wooden McDonalds spoons that you get for your ice cream and glued in place.

Måste ju för tusan gå att få tag i runda balsastänger. Ska kolla med farsan som är gammal modellbyggare. Vore ju perfekt om man hittade 4,5mm rundstav i balsa då är det ju en baggis att fästa lysstav på toppen också.

Can you see the ones made from wine corks???
There is also one there (on the right) made from an aluminium cigar tube, its filled with "frigolit" and then the cap is glued on. there is also a swivel fitted.
There are lots of things you can make floats from, that you would normally throw away. Another is the tubes that you buy vitamin tablets in, they make great pike floats
