I was fishing a small lake close to where I live the other night, all hell was breaking lose as the entire tench population had started spawning. They were crashing and splashing in the margins, I blanked, but it gave the opportunity to see the lakes potential, which was a staggering amount of tench for such a small lake. So the evening was spent fish watching instead of fishing catching.

Are tench spawning near you? Have they already spawned? Or not yet? I would like to get geographical idea of spawning times in relation to temperature and different regions!

A fishing acquaintance local to me tells me that he believes it’s extremely odd that there spawning now, but maybe the late spring held back the required water temperature!
