Hangers & Swingers

OK, I have been asked about the difference between Hangers & Swingers, and when i say swingers, i dont mean a sordid German sex party!

The main difference is that swingers have a solid bar and hangers have a flexible chain or string.

I personally prefer Swingers to hangers............

1. Hangers have a tendency to blow around in the wind, giving false bite indications

2. I have been tangled in hangers before when striking in to a carp and the hanger has become wrapped around the main line, not good and not funny.

There is no real advantage of using hangers...

What about buttswingers? Whats their advantage and disadvantage to swingers?


Yepp, I prefer swingers to hangers too.

A buttswinger is a swinger..... But the short arm on the buttswingers will make less "beeps" if dropback. And another disadvatage is that it's quite tricky to regulate the weight when often changing your fishingdistance.

The solar hangers with union jack is very cool but it should be a swedish flag instead of the english one

By the way, that is not the Union Jack its the "Cross of St George", the English flag.
The Union Jack is the British Flag
