Fox Sky Pod
The Fox Sky Pod can be used in almost any Carp fishing situation. It works great to get over marginal snags like weed, sunken trees and lillypads when used in sky mode (see pic) or if you need to keep as much line out of the water as possible.
It is an extremley stable pod and is available in 3 or 4 rod versions (the pic shows the 3 rod)
Unfortunatley over the last 12 months that I have used this pod, I have experienced a few problems with it that has led me to believe there were a few design faults.
The biggest problem that I have found (this only applies to the 3 rod version) is that the 2 vertical bars that screw into the buzzbars are too short.
What happens is, when you get a “drop back” on the middle rod the swinger/indicator cannot fall that far at all, indicating the take, unlike the left and right hand rods (see the picture). The main bar stops the swinger from doing this.
Also the tightening screws are in quite an awkward place and when you have cold wet hands trying to loosen these can be a real nightmare.
It is quite a heavy & bulky pod however that does have its advantage with its stability.
Not really appropiate for “tight” swims either.
In my opinion it’s a pod for the long stay angler aswell as it takes quite a while to set up compared to the more conventional pods.
It’s a good pod but “could” have been better ?
Score = 6/10
