Jerkbaitequipment - HELP!!

Hi,
I am from Germany. Please could someone help me get some information about jerkbaitequipment for swedish pikes (in Germany VERY unknown).

I have:
Reel: ABU Revo Toro 51 HS
Jerkbaits: Big Bandit, Buster Jerk

I would like to buy:
Rod: Strike Pro: Contact 6,8 or Contest 6,6
Line: Strike Wire Green 0,36
Leader: Titanium No-Kink Leader

How many Lbs (pounds) do I need for the Leader (50lb, 60lb, 75lb) ?

Do you think the combination is ok??

Sure it would be ok, but theres better rods for the money IMO. Id go for the Savagear Woody Series whos is the same pricerange, but thats just my 2 cents. Leaderwise go for the 75 lb version, just because its more durable, and during a backlash it wont brake and youll save money on lures.

Very nice equipment stated above. I use the Strike Pro Contest 6,6” rod, and I’m very pleased with it.
The rod length is a personal choice. I went for the 6,6 because of my length, I’m only 170 cm tall. I think that the rod has a nice action, good hooking ability and over all is easy to work the baits with.
The “Toro” reel is a great choice, especially if you have small hands and a low profile reel is more comfortable for you rather than a full size reel. This reel will work well along with the rod stated above.
Leader: Go for the 75 pounder, period.
I think that Big Bandit is one of the best mass produced baits on the market. I have caught a lot of nice pikes with this bait and I even caught my personal best pike with this bait.

That seems like a great jerkbait combo.
I use 100lb flourocarbon for my leaders i think it is easier to get better movement out of your baits and also a suspending lure will suspend and not sink which it would do if you use a heavu titanium leader.

I reccomend stay-loks size 4 from stringease and either stringease double ball bearing swivels or berkley singe bearing swivels. you can buy this (and some nice baits) from Rollie And Helens Musky Shop (email them for cheaper shipping). Leader is also available (both 75lb titanium and 100lb flourocarbon) for a much greater price than here in Sweden and probably Germany too.

Some nice jerkbaits: The Pig, Salmo Slider, Phantom, Savagear Freestyler (with a flourocarbon leader)

I havent been the owner of those rods but I got a lot of friends using those and they seem to be pleased. - About the titanium leader I agree with Grävlingen about the 75 LB.

About your choice of line colour I would rather go for an White or Yellow line since you'll see it easier. - The fish wont notice any different.

I build them myself. I think I use about 50cm. Just to be safe...You never know with pikes.
